Sep 6 rally violence: Police release sketches of 36 agitators


BHUBANESWAR: The Commissionerate Police released the sketches of 36 suspected people who had participated in the September 6 rally violence at the Lower PMG here. The photographs of the suspected people have been sent to all the police stations in the State to trace out them, said Bhubaneswar DCP Nitinjeet Singh to the media persons here on Thursday.

Singh said the police have arrested only 34 people from the rally venue on September 6 for creating violence during Congress’s Mahasamabesh. All the photos were taken from the close circuit camera installed at the rally venue, he added.

The police have formed a squad to trace out the culprits involved in the violence. The photos of the persons were pasted at different police stations and public places in the city. Even the persons would be awarded for providing information about the wanted persons, police said.

On the other hand, Singh said that five persons were identified in connection with the lady cop attack case. Police would also release the pictures of suspected persons involved in the lady cop attack case very soon.

It may be noted that around 260 people, including 60 security personnel, 10 journalists were injured and a lady constable physically assaulted in the clash between the police and the Congress workers during the party’s ‘Naveen oust’ rally on September 6.
