‘Declare Srikant Jena as CM candidate for Congress’

--Women body urges PCC to recommend their suggestion

BHUBANESWAR: The State Green Card Holders Development Council on Monday urged all the members of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) to declare Srikant Jena as Congress’s Chief Minister Candidate for the next 2014 election. They stated that Jena, who has recently raised his voice in the national level against irregularities in PDS rice distribution in the State, is the right choice.

According to the general secretary of the council Devraj Nayak, Jena had recently given a tough challenge by asking several questions and raising issues of State Government’s distribution of 25 kg rice to the BPL families in stead of providing 35 kg rice. Jena showed his political maturity by raising the issue which is now a headache for the BJD Government, so that they request the PCC members to declare that very soon, Nayak added.

The council also requested the PCC members to announce the name of Jena during the State Assembly gherao on September 6, otherwise they would write to AICC chairperson Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Rahul Gandhi in the matter.
