Utkal Bharat president meets injured lady cop

BHUBANESWAR: He would go to the High Court, if the State Government along with the police department fails to take action against the culprits who assaulted the lady cop, said Utkal Bharat president Kharvel Swain after visiting Ayush Hospital here on Tuesday to meet injured lady cop Pramila Padhy, who was attacked by the Congress workers on September 6 during the massive rally organised by the Pradesh Congress Committee.

Swain inquired about the health condition of Padhy and demanded the Government should take exemplary action against the Congress workers who attacked her. Swain said the heinous attack on the lady cop clearly reflected that the Congress would start goondaraj in the State if the party comes to the power. The women and girls couldn’t walk on the road again fearing Congress hooligans, he added.

“We will wait for another three days to see what steps the State Government and police department would take in the matter. If they fail, we would think about the next steps in the issue,” said Swain.
