Hike of diesel, cooking gas price anti-people: CPI

BHUBANESWAR: Protesting hike in diesel price and cooking gas price, the Odisha State Council of the Communist Party of India demonstrated at Rajmahal square here on Friday demanding immediate rollback of the decision. The price hike would affect the common men and it is anti-people, the party said.

The workers and supporters of the party led by Bhubaneswar Zonal Committee secretary Sura Jena came in a procession from the party office to Rajmahal square flaunting placards bearing slogans against the UPA Government.

Party members said the price of essential commodities would go up as the Central Government hiked the diesel price overnight. Even the Government drew the limit of cooking gas use in six cylinders per year in normal price which would affect the middleclass families of the country, the members said.
